You may have already looked at this, but it may be a Windows permission
problem.
If the System account is running the client, it can only backup local
drives.
You need an account that has authority to backup non-local drives/shares.

It is the case that the client OS environment is screwed up, and that
the client administrator needs to fix it...which is to say that this
is not a TSM problem.
(However, the TSM documentation on symbolic links is conflicting: In
the Unix client manual it says, During a backup operation

Anyone else seen this yet?
I have LPARs running AIX 5.1 ML3, client code 5.1.5.5, server 4.1.9.2 (on
AIX 4.3.3.10). When an archive is attempted (with the default of
followsymlink=yes) you get this error message in the error.log
01/18/03 05:41:27 ANS3008E Too many symbolic links were detected
What is the correct way to backup Symbolic links for AIX.
TSM server V 4.2.1.11
AIX client V 4.2.1.23
The client wants to backup all the folders pointed by the Link and also restore the
folders pointed to by symbolic links.
Should I be able to see the link in the Backup GUI ?
Thanks

Zosimo - There is EXCLUDE.ARCHIVE; but I would dig into that file system and
resolve its problems, as they are unhealty for anything going through
that area. Step your way into that problem directory and see what's going
