The issue with FTP downloads still exists, I tried to download TSM 8.1.1 with 
different settings using Download Master:
1. Multi-stream download: BROKEN
2. Single-stream with pause and resume: BROKEN
3. Single-stream in single attempt (like browsers do): OK

But I hav had the truncation problem some times in the past that made me

Hi Zoltan!
That's the exact same error I got. I tried both service.boulder.ibm.com and 
public.dhe.ibm.com, same result. I also tried unpacking the file on my desktop 
using 7zip: also an error. I downloaded the file directly to the Linux server: 
same error. Only the version I downloaded from Fix Central unpacked without 
errors. The strange thing is that the file sizes are identical. Hash 
calculation by using HashCalc showed a different MD5 hash:
The file from Fix Central: 62a5b10ceb53524137d1709e14cabee1
The file from boulder: 3805e829231988ac9dd51abbd44b2081
Really weird...

Checksum is a great idea! I opened a RFE a couple of days ago not being
aware that IBM does deliver a checksum (just does not state which ;-()
when downloading from the Passport site via http. One more enhancement
would be to deliver the checksum via a secondary transport method e.g. via
email to make sure it has not been manipulated at the IBM site. So it´s
available, IBM just please deliver one on the ftp site as well for current
and future versions.

I just downloaded the file from the service.boulder.ibm.com site (on a
non-IBM networked machine) and it looks okay to me. I used 7-zip on Windows
to test and extract the files, and everything was clean. I also extracted
it on Linux, same as you (Zoltan) did, and it extracted clean:

Not a direct answer to your comment, but for what it's worth, Fix Central
is IBM's strategic delivery vehicle for maintenance (not including licensed
products obtained from Passport Advantage). If you use Download Director on
Fix Central to obtain fixes, it has features to ensure the integrity of the
downloaded file. See the following information

TSM 7.1.6 binary truncated?

Dear experts,

Checksum is a great idea! I opened a RFE a couple of days ago not being
aware that IBM does deliver a checksum (just does not state which ;-()
when downloading from the Passport site via http. One more enhancement
would be to deliver the checksum via a secondary transport method e.g. via
email to make sure it has not been manipulated at the IBM site. So it´s
available, IBM just please deliver one on the ftp site as well for current
and future versions.

Andy/Eric,

I have to concur on the downloaded file being corrupted.  I was able to
download (using remote access) this file on my home desktop via Comcast (vs
VCU and their connection to the world/internet) using the exact same
method/tools and the file downloaded at home is perfect/no issues when
unzipping. Unfortunately, this has happened to me before so I think I am
going to raise an issue with my networking folks on the quality of internet
connections.  As much as some folks have complained about Comcast, I have
never had any issues with downloads being corrupted and the speed in my
area is phenomenal.

Maybe IBM should start supplying CRC/checksum values?

It seemed to extract clean - just gave me the warning about there being a
misplaced EOF pointer.  I have not tried to unzip/tar on a Linux machine -
just used the latest 7zip on my W7 desktop.  I will re-download at home via
Comcast which is faster than at my office/university and try it again.

Hi Zoltan, all

I just downloaded the file from the service.boulder.ibm.com site (on a
non-IBM networked machine) and it looks okay to me. I used 7-zip on Windows
to test and extract the files, and everything was clean. I also extracted
it on Linux, same as you (Zoltan) did, and it extracted clean:
