Cleversafe onprem + deduplication with TSM

Hi Can I create a deduplication enabled storage pool using Cleversafe cloud using TSM 7.1.5. I can find that there are flags to enable / disable encryption for on-premises however there are no flags to enable for disable for dedduplication nor compression. Thanks

Hello Rainer, As far as I can tell, there is no problem with the server, so there is nothing to fix on the server. The issue I described in my prior email was on the client side. The problem was in older versions of the client, and fixed in the client levels I indicated. Best regards, Andy

If I have data path failover support enabled in the lin_tape driver, how do I define the path correctly to tsm? I need to make sure I catch the correct /dev/ entry so that lin_tape can manage the data paths. What do I use in the device field of the path definition for a drive?

This is pretty much what I do as well. A huge advantage in doing it this way, at the filespace level, is that it is MUCH faster than counting individual files. We have about 1 billion files divided between 3 TSM servers, compared to only several thousand filespaces. I call it CHURN rather than ABU

that is because the container (cloud or directory) manages deduplication. As the data is ingested, Spectrum Protect detemines if the data is to be deduplicated. Inside the storage pool, you will see two types of containers, a container that is deduplicated and a non-deduplicated. To answer you
