Re: Click Performance Report

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the explanation.

I want to know how the click is performed on the deleted ads? Those ads are
deleted long back, and I believe it should not be returned when I download
click performance report now...Let me know if I am wrong..

 Hi,

I took a look at the account and the clicks you mentioned were all for
deleted ads. These ads were deleted due to edits of the destination URL.
When you edit an ad, AdWords deletes the existing ad and creates a new ad
with the modified attributes. You can actually see the clicks in question
on the *Ads* tab of the AdWords UI if you change the filter drop-down to *All
ads* instead of *All but deleted ads*.

We're aware of the mismatch between ad IDs on the two reports and are
looking into it. I'll post back here once I have more information.

Adwords API Error (in Python)

2014-01-10 Thread Jimmy Xie
Hello,

I have my everything set up as specified below. I confirmed that oauth2 is
working but I am getting an error when trying to access the
client.GetCampaignService() method. I get an xml error, mismatched tag:
line 7 column 2. I assume this is because it is outputting an error message
that is not in xml format.

I created an MCC account to link to my production account. I set up billing
and and agreed to the API terms and conditions on the MCC account screen. I
then created a test account, created some dummy adwords account inside the
test account, and went to the api console to create the client id and
client secret.

In my config.py script I use the following:

Client ID: test account client ID
client secret: test account client secret
refresh token: test account refresh token associated with above (i did the
handshake with the test account when requesting access).
login client customer ID: test account adwords client ID (one of the ones I
created)
user agent: I just used my program name
developer token: production account developer token (which is pending)

Is the error I get related to authorization? I've read a bunch of posts now
and I think I have my setup correct. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Here is the full error message:

Test Account Authorization

2014-01-10 Thread Jimmy Xie
Hello,

I need some clarity about how to use the test account.

After I create the client ID and client secret in the api console. Which
account should I use to approve access? Should I be using my test account's
login? or Production MCC Account? Or Production Adwords Account?

Further, what do I put in the customer client ID field? Do I enter the
production Adwords Account client ID in the form 123-456-7890? Or do I
create a fake client ID in the test account and use that?

EntityCountLimitExceeded.CAMPAING_LIMIT on negative keywords

2014-01-10 Thread tt
Hi

I am getting EntityCountLimitExceeded.CAMPAIGN_LIMIT @ operations
(enclosingId=..., limit=1, accountLimitType=null, existingCount=null)
when trying to add a lot of negative keywords.
I have not been able to find specific limits on how many negative keywords
may be added to a campaign, but is the gist of this error that I can only
add 1?

The reason I need this, is that we do not have access to the beta API, an
thus cannot create shared sets with negative keywords.
We would like to automatically create negative keywords based on
automatically created keywords.
These negative keywords needs to be synchronized across several campaigns,
in order to prevent matching on the entire account.
Thus we try to create the total amount of keywords (300.000+), as negative
keywords on each campaign, but then run into this error.

Is what we are trying to do actually doable with current API, or do we have
to get beta access or worst case wait until the shared set API comes into
mainstream API?
We have made a request for beta access, but so far no decisive answer.

Kind regards.
Troels.

Dev estimate time to build Minimum required functionality

All other aspects to the Google Ad service (e.g. Bidding, Location, etc) we

developer background so when reading the Minimum Required Functionality I
am unsure about how long it will take to build the above functionality.

What is a general estimate for one developer to create the above

months? Any help here would be much appreciated!

Re: Click Performance Report

2014-01-10 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi VijayRaj,

I took a look at the change history for your Campaign and I can see that
you made multiple edits to the ad on Dec 16, 17, 19, 22 and 23, but the ad
was live on those dates. Could you click on the *View Change History* link
at the far right of the *Ads* tab and let me know if that helps explain the
state of the ad on each day?

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

 Hi,

I took a look at the account and the clicks you mentioned were all for
deleted ads. These ads were deleted due to edits of the destination URL.
When you edit an ad, AdWords deletes the existing ad and creates a new ad
with the modified attributes. You can actually see the clicks in question
on the *Ads* tab of the AdWords UI if you change the filter drop-down to
 *All
ads* instead of *All but deleted ads*.

We're aware of the mismatch between ad IDs on the two reports and are
looking into it. I'll post back here once I have more information.

AWQL -- query only Records with Impressions, Clicks, or Conversions 0

2014-01-10 Thread Brandon Patrick
Using reporting, I only want to pull ads where one of these stats --
Impressions, Clicks, Conversions -- is greater than zero. In MySQL I would
do something like this:

SELECT Id, Impressions, Clicks, Conversions, Status FROM
AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE CampaignId = $remote_service_ID AND
(Impressions 0 OR Clicks 0 OR Conversions 0) DURING $dateRange

But as far as I can tell there is no support for OR in AWQL. Can you
recommend a way to do this?

Traffic estimator service: discrepancy between API and UI results

2014-01-10 Thread João Pedro Lisboa
Hi all,

I am using the most recent version of Adwords API (v201309) and I am having
problems with Traffic Estimator service.
When I perform the a query through API, results don't match with UI.

For example, I want to do a query to find the estimated traffic for the
keyword sapato masculino (men's shoes), restricted to Brazil and
Portuguese language. I do it for a set of bids, in order to find out the
best initial bit to set up on my keyword settigns. The problem is that when
I do the same query through Adwords UI, it results in different numbers.
API's results are always more optimist. When I set the bit to a high value,
such as R$ 99,99, the number of impressions are the same for the both
results. But the maximum values for average position, cpc and CTR (and,
consequently, number of clicks) is never the same -- API's results are
better then UI's. Of course, I am using the same account for the both of
methods...

Can somebody helps me please?

Following is my source code (in C#). I perform the test for values from
R$0,01 to R$0,10. Only the maximum number of impressions matches with UI's
results:

Duplicate Geo Targetting locations

2014-01-10 Thread gdhulipalla
Hi,

While syncing campaigns from Google Adwords to our local system we
observed there are duplicate Geo Target locations.

  https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/geotargeting

   Below are some examples

   1018109AyerAyer,Massachusetts,United States21152
USCityActive
   9051534AyerAyer,Massachusetts,United States21152
USCityActive

   1023548BainbridgeBainbridge,Ohio,United States21168
USCityActive
   9051539BainbridgeBainbridge,Ohio,United States21168
USCityActive

   1018765Bar HarborBar Harbor,Maine,United States21154
USCityActive
   9051547Bar HarborBar Harbor,Maine,United States21154
USCityActive

What is the difference between these Geo locations, when the user
selects a city in Google Adwords UI how do we identify which of the
criteria ids is selected?

Thanks
Gopi

Error: redirect_uri_mismatch and Error: invalid_grant

2014-01-10 Thread Doubt Dolson
Hi,

As we were trying to get API access, we did follow the following procedure
but with only failure.

We got error messages at two places while

*1. Trying to get Authorization Code 'Error: redirect_uri_mismatch' 2.
Trying to get Refresh Token 'Error: invalid_grant' *
CASE # 1 :
We have an active MCC account
We are using Adwords PHP Client Library v201309
We have valid and approved developer token
We have generated client_id and client_secret using URL :
https://code.google.com/apis/console#access for Web Application
We went to command line and executed GetRefreshToken.php
   We got URL to execute
We executed ,we got error #1*'Error: redirect_uri_mismatch'*

CASE # 2 :
From case # 1, We got URL to execute
We replaced redirect_uri manually by replacing with one of the urls
defined as redirect urls during client id/secret generation
   We executed the modified URL
We got an interface where it asked if we want to allow access to the
application we defined
We allowed *Clicked on allow button*
   We got an authorization code
We supplied the same to the GetRefreshToken.php file as $code
Again, we got an error *'Error: invalid_grant' *

We are not able to move ahead from this point. So, any help would be
appreciated.

Note:
With the same developer token, we are able to fetch data from a test
MCC Account.

Thanks,
Deepak

What other configurations are required before I can make sandbox

Are there any simple test files available (other than the files included

 - Impression potential reach
 - Keyword popularity
 - Define/edit start/end dates
 - Pay Google for any placed ad

All other aspects to the Google Ad service (e.g. Bidding, Location, etc)

What is a general estimate for one developer to create the above

Re: How to get started with AdWords API PHP library 4.7.0 / v201309 ?

2014-01-10 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

All of our examples (including the *GetRefreshToken.php*) are meant to be
run from the command line. *GetRefreshToken.php* will write to stdout and
prompt you to open a URL in your browser, then will wait on stdin for you
to copy and paste the authorization code returned by the URL. Once you've
done that it will print instructions for modifying your auth.ini to stdout.

Are you running it from the command line or via some other mechanism?

Thanks,

 Hi,

The sandbox endpoint was deprecated a while back in favor of test
 accounts.

 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/test-accounts

 Regarding simple tests, the
 GetCampaignshttps://github.com/googleads/googleads-php-lib/blob/master/examples/AdWords/v201309/BasicOperations/GetCampaigns.phpexample
is a straightforward, read-only example that should indicate if you
have everything set up correctly. Also, when you run the sample it will
create log files in the current directory that you can check to confirm
 your request went through.

I haven’t use AdWords API before – so I’m trying to get started with
 sandbox version.
I Downloaded and installed the AdWords API PHP Client Library 4.7.0. to
my server; I edited the user information in auth.ini and I also edited the
 settings.ini to use server: https://adwords-sandbox.google.com
After these “configurations” all example files (under v201309) – like
EstimateKeywordTraffic.php – return just a blank page (no API errors or PHP
 errors).

What other configurations are required before I can make sandbox
 calls/requests?
Are there any simple test files available (other than the files included
in client library) that can be used for checking if my server actually made
 any API requests?

A few questions about the GeoPerformanceReport

2014-01-10 Thread mm
Hey guys -
I have a couple of questions about the GeoPerformanceReport - first, is
this returning to me only information about locations I have specifically
targeted, or is it returning to me geo data for all the activity in the
account? Secondly, I have included MostSpecificCriteriaId in my report,
but I am having a little difficulty resolving the criteriaId's that are
returned. I expected that I would be able to plug the id into the
geoTargeting lookup table at
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/geotargeting to
find the description of the criteria, but none that I have tried to resolve
thus far are in the list.. so how do I use those criteria ids? Lastly, is
it possible to request this report for a specific GeoTargetType (ie just
Postal Code)?

Thanks a bunch!
Margaret
