Which version is being used after migration

2018-03-16 Thread jordan . lee
I received an email stating, "your AdWords API Developer account submitted
99.81% of your API requests to an outdated API version within the past
seven days." I believe I have updated to the latest version now, but I
would like to confirm that 100% of API requests are on the new version. Is
there anywhere I can check this?

How to Determine Which Month the Current TargetingIdeaService Response Is For

2018-03-16 Thread picklepilot
So currently I understand that the TargetingIdeaService API will return the
metrics (Avg CPC, Search Volume, etc...) for the latest complete month. But
I've found that there seems to be a few day buffer at the beginning of each
month where Adwords data takes some time to refresh for latest complete
month.

Is there any way currently to also see which month the API is returning
data for (CASE: User queries TargetingIdeaService for set of keywords on
03/01/2018 and quite possibly the data being returned is for the complete
month of 01/2018. I want to easily figure out if the returned metrics are
for 01/2018 or 02/2018 in this case.)

I have been sort of building in a 'for_month' param that gets returned
which is based on the latest month listed in the
'targeted_monthly_searches' object.

Is there any (other) way of finding out which month the returned metrics
are actually for?

Thanks!

Can AdGroupAdReturnValue Contains an AdGroupAd with its Policy Summary?

2018-03-16 Thread alex . komisarz
After successfully creating a new AdGroupAd the return value does not seem
to contain all of the information related to that AdGroupAd.

I know that when using the php sdk and calling get on the AdGroupAdService
you need to specify 'policySummary' in the selector in order to get it
returned, however there is no option to specify the return value of a newly
created ad.

here is some example code to illustrate what I mean.

$adGroupAdService = $this->awServices->get($session,
AdGroupAdService::class);
$operation = new AdGroupAdOperation();
$operation->setOperand($ad);
$operation->setOperator('ADD');

$result = $adGroupAdService->mutate($operations);
$adGroupAd = $result->getValue()[0];

// partial value of one of the AdGroupAds in result:
// adGroupId:protected] =>
// [ad:protected] => Google\AdsApi\AdWords\v201710\cm\CallOnlyAd Object
//{ad}
// [status:protected] => ENABLED
// [policySummary:protected] => NULL

$adGroupId = $$adGroupAd->getAdGroupId();
$adId = $adGroupAd->getAd()->getId();

$selector = new Selector();
$selector->setFields(['AdGroupId', 'PolicySummary']);
$selector->setPredicates([
   new Predicate('AdGroupId', PredicateOperator::EQUALS, [$adGroupId]),
   new Predicate('Id', PredicateOperator::EQUALS, [$adId])
]);
$page = $adGroupAdService->get($selector);
$adGroupAdFull = $page->getEntries()[0];

// partial value of one of the AdGroupAds in result:
// adGroupId:protected] =>
// [ad:protected] => Google\AdsApi\AdWords\v201710\cm\CallOnlyAd Object
//{ad}
// [status:protected] => ENABLED
// [policySummary:protected] =>
Google\AdsApi\AdWords\v201710\cm\AdGroupAdPolicySummary Object

Do I need to make that second call to get policy information or is there a
way it can be returned from the mutate result?

Remove Negative Keywords at Campaign Level

  But we need the code reference to delete negative campaigns at the

Re: Add multiple placements using api

2018-03-16 Thread 'Sreelakshmi Sasidharan (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

The Placements criterion can only be targeted at an AdGroup level. At a
campaign level, this can only be excluded. Please check here
 for
more details about criteria usage. To add a negative campaign criterion,
please refer to AddCampaignTargetingCriteria

 sample.
The sample adds a negative keyword. In your case, you will need to set the
attributes of a placement

 instead.
To retrieve the campaign level negative criterion, you could use the
CampaignCriterionService.get()

 and
filter by CriteriaType

 "PLACEMENT".
Please check the GetCampaignTargetingCriteria

 sample
for reference. You will need to include PlacementUrl

 and
any other fields

 of
your choice in your selector.

If you are having trouble getting the results for CampaignCriterionService,
could you please share the campaign ID which has the placement and not
being returned? Please note that, if the placement is added at the AdGroup
level, you will have to use the AdGroupCriterionService.get()

instead. If you need a sample for this, please check GetKeywords

 which
uses AdGroupCriterionService to get the keywords.

Thanks,
Sreelakshmi, AdWords API Team

Creating negative keyword in manager account using SharedSetService - validating migration from 201705 to 201802

2018-03-16 Thread Matthew Wawrin
Hi,

I'm working through the validation of our code base (PHP) from 201705 to
201802, and I noticed a change in the 201708 migration guide regarding the
SharedSetService mutate regarding creating shared set of Negative keywords
in a manager account:

>From https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/migration/v201708:

*Requests that attempt to create a shared set of NEGATIVE_KEYWORDS type

 in
a manager account will now fail with a SharedSetError

 of MANAGER_CUSTOMER_CANNOT_CREATE_SHARED_SET_OF_THIS_TYPE.
This change does not impact client (non-manager) accounts.*

 We manage a large number of sub-accounts under our manager, and all
campaigns in those sub-accounts use the same base negative keyword shared
in the manager account. Currently there are > 19K campaigns linked to the
manager level negative keyword list.

In both our production MCC and test manager account I'm still able to
create a Negative Keyword shared set using the 201802 API level which
contradicts the change in 201708. In my test manager I'm able to create a
campaign shared set association with the shared set that was created.

I'd like to understand the impact of this change so I can properly update
our operations and code to the latest level. Does the API enforce the
change in 201708 in a way that I'm overlooking?
To be honest I haven't tried using the 201708 API level to see if the
behaviour changed after, but the subsequent migration logs don't appear to
call out this change.

Unrelated to the API, Are manager level negative keywords being phased out
in general (not limited to the API) and we should migrate to the client
customer accounts. I can follow up on the Adwords users forum for this
question but I suspect the API would have to reflect this too.

I plan to push the code to move up early next week, giving me a week or so
until the switch over to handle any issues.

Thank you,
Matt.

Re: Average Position 0.0

2018-03-16 Thread Marcel Zemp
Hi all

I see this in various types of campaigns: Search, Display and Shopping
(Advertising Channel Type). But the main effect I see for Shopping
campaigns.

If it would not make sense for a certain type (e.g. Shopping) should the
API then not rather give back a NULL or "not applicable" value, i.e. "--"
as it does for other fields?

Though, because it appears in all types of campaigns, it looks to me like a
data quality issue plus a wrong "not applicable" data handling.

In addition, I've also posted this in the AdWords Forum (see here

).

How handle less than 10% and greater than 90% Impression Share value when we calculate Total IS%?

2018-03-16 Thread Qaiser Javed
Hi Members!

I have a problem. I am getting data by using AdWords API report "Keyword
PErformance Report". Sample data is given below: *Cal_IS (Calculated IS )
total is 75.83% that is differ from Adwords UI, Adwords UI IS total = 73.39
difference is about 2.44%*.

I know the difference is because of two records at serial no 8 and 13
because in these two records impressions = 0 and IS% is "<10%". *Now how
AdWords handle "<10%" or in some cases ">90%" values. *

Any idea please share your knowledge. File is attached herewith.
SNO QualityScore Impressions SearchImpressionShare (IS) Total Eligible
Impressions (TEI) = (Impressions/IS) Cal_IS = (Impressions/TEI)*100

Re: updating shared fields in price extension

2018-03-16 Thread 'Peter Oliquino' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Gil,

Yes, as the guide suggested, you will need first to retrieve all your
extensions using the get method. Then, you will need to identify the
specific feedItem which attributes you wish to update and apply the
changes. Afterwards, you will need to include all those other feedItems
(along with their attributes) in your request so that all of them will be
retained.

As stated here
,

the mutate operations for both the ADD and SET operators are already
treated identically. So, if you pass only one feedItem in your mutate
request, only that specific feedItem will remain. Let me know if this helps
and if you require more information.

Best regards,
Peter
