Yeah, I have heard about this. VPNs using what is considered regular residential IPs are poisoning the well for everyone. Amazon and other streamers are just using the big hammer rather than finesse to shut them down. Actually they will never be able to totally shut them down.

You may actually want to lower the unit. The higher you go the more even number Fresnel zones you expose which are out of phase for the odd numbered ones. This will actually lower signal. Higher is not always better. Best practice is to try to achieve between .6 and 1 Fresnel zone clearance.
