no, i learned it from a landscaper, he would heat it with a torch and
couple them instead of using a coupling

Will try that, I figured they would stick together at that point.
I've used couplers, but they're not deep enough and it doesn't bind
together the same way the flared end does with HDPE.

if you just need the flared end of a pvc pipe you can take a 1ft piece and
sand one end down to give the edge 45 degree or greater edges, then you
just heat up 3in of pipe and jam the beveled piece against it and it will
flare out

Basically looking for a way to use the rest. It looks like PVC is about
300-400% higher than last time I bought it.

I guess it is nice to know I'm not the only one doing it that way, I just

Lots of companies do it this way as well.
Are you looking for a way to use the half stick you are throwing away?
Or a replacement for the PVC?
There are pex flaring tools that might be able to flare the PVC if you heat it,
I think that is what TJ Trout is suggesting.
On amazon there is this
reflare it with a tool or another piece with beveled edges, heat with a
heatgun

Does anyone have a good solution for this?
My drop conduit is 3/4" HDPE, but my ONT closure accepts 1" PVC. I had been
just using the flared end of a stick of PVC and tension fitting it to the
HDPE, but with PVC prices skyrocketing I'd like to find a better way to do
this since I use a 10ft stick
Not in the cost category you are looking for, but also not completely out of
line, is the Veex FX120 that will (in addition to doing a lot of other things)
Speedtest a 10G connection.

A lot of these run off battery too. Yes once a month or more you have to
bring it down plug it in and charge the battery...
