Re: [AFMUG] Verizon hotspot - for access to towersite?
Verizon has static IP's for about 4 bucks month for the hotspots. I haven't had a problem with getting SIM cards from VZ for devices. I usually just take whatever it is to a store and say "I need a SIM for this thing". They mull around a bit longer than if you brought them a phone but that's about it. ~Seth -- AF mailing list AF@af.afmug.com http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list AF@af.afmug.com http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com

Re: [AFMUG] Verizon hotspot - for access to towersite?
That would work. I was hoping to have it listening so we could simply VPN in from a laptop in the field to the router at the tower. [AFMUG] Verizon hotspot - for access to towersite?
So those of you using Verizon hotspot type connections as a secondary connection point for your towers. What is it called? Is it a static IP that you can just VPN into? We are looking for a simple solution to VPN into a tower site if the backhauls ( or something else drops off line). Just wondering what it is I want to ask Verizon for when I call up to place the order. What are you all using? Does it have a static and Ethernet port to plug into our router? [AFMUG] OT - you can call a ride hailing service for that?
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2018/12/serial-swatter-and-stalker-mir-islam-arr ested-for-allegedly-dumping-body-in-river/ So you can call a ride hailing service if you want to dump a body in the river? I guess once they go to self driving cars it will be a little less awkward. -- AF mailing list AF@af.afmug.com http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
