Re: [AFMUG] Cambium auto contention slots in a FSK / 450i colocation situation.

I remember seeing a thread on the forums explaining more of this.

Maybe this helps

[AFMUG] Cambium auto contention slots in a FSK / 450i colocation situation.

2019-12-13 Thread Brandon Yuchasz
Anyone running the new firmware on their 450 platform with auto contention
slots enabled in a colocation situation with FSK?

I have read through the limited info on the cambium site and it appears that
it's possible to do it but you still need to use the colocation calculator
and make sure your timing is not stepping on each other.

For example right now my 450i AP is set to

Channel Bandwidth

7

Max Range (mi)

14

Dowlink Data

78%

Contention slots

8

Frame length (ms)

5

My FSK 900 is set to

Channel Bandwidth

8

Max Range (mi)

14

Downlink Data

75%

Contention Slots

4

Frame length (ms)

5

This checks out as Okay.

Would I then just turn on the auto contention slots but leave all this info
the same and if so is it not going to run up past the amount of contention
slots I specified anyway to keep from screwing up the timing? If so why
bother with auto?

Thanks

Brandon
