My numbers may be slightly off, but SNAP INC signed 2 deals before IPO:
$400mil/year for 5 years, and another $1 billion deal with Amazon for
DataCenter/vdc services

If you've already signed $3bil deals pre-IPO, you better have something in
the works.

[AFMUG] PTP450i vs PTP600

2017-03-03 Thread Craig Schmaderer
I have a good number of PTP450i links running 30mhz channels with great
results. I am installing some new links this year, and I can get used PTP600
gear for almost the same price. I have never used any PTP600 or PTP650 gear.
I would love to hear any opinions on what you guys think is a better solution.
It think i see 2 main differences just by looking at the spec sheets. I am
able to pull about 200-225mbs on a PTP450i in 30mhz channels, the PTP600 spec
sheet shows 300mbs. Also one other negative on the PTP600 is it looks like
there are 2 different units in the 5ghz band and no unit in the low 5.1-5.2ghz
band. Thanks, Craig.

2017-03-03 Thread Mathew Howard
It's been awhile, so I could be wrong, but I *think* the XR9 mini-PCI will
connect to a Rocket M900. However, for that to work, you would need to
disable airmax on the Rocket, which you can't do through the GUI on the
900mhz radios (it can be done by manually editing the config file, or it
least could on older firmware).

[AFMUG] Ubiquity 900MHz -- Mikrotik 900MHz

2017-03-03 Thread Philip Rankin
Asking any of you Ubiquiti and Mikrotik Gurus out there

Are there any of the little (I think manufactured by Ubiquiti) pci cards
made to operate in a Mikrotik Routerboard as an SM that is compatible with
Ubiquiti's mimo 900Mhz Rocket as an AP?

BTW, I try to monitor the list at least weekly. I virtually never post.

Thanks for any help that I've gleaned from y'all over the years!
