IMHO a max prefix limit is just insurance, especially omniscience’s Mikrotik with route leak issues. Folks LIKE Packet Clearing house have done APNIC and Nanog presentations on why this can be an assist. I have had major backbone providers hit routing filters on full tables set at 900k more

hmmm not a good ideal on setting up prefix limit on your Full Table IP Transit BGP Connections.. setting prefix limits on your Peering BGP connections is an excellent idea. Using ACL Filters to explicitly accept prefixes from your down-stream, and what you advertise to your upstream is
