Problems. It is on AWS. Who knows. Worked great for almost 5 years. But since it is just maintenance by a committee of volunteers, I figured it best to just move it over to folks that specialize in running lists for others. Re: [AFMUG] Changes coming
Some tax game going on too. From the article: Level 3 will help trim CenturyLink’s tax bill by adding nearly $10 billion of accumulated net operating losses to its balance sheet. Level 3 racked up massive losses for most of its history, as heavy infrastructure costs outstripped its service revenues. The newly profitable carrier has more recently used those past losses to reduce its effective tax rate. Interesting strategy to acquire a debt-laden company to get a massive tax write-off. bp On 10/31/2016 10:30 AM, Travis Johnson wrote: I wonder how this will affect everything... http://www.wsj.com/articles/centurylink-to-buy-level-3-communications-for-25-billion-1477911639 I know a lot of people use and love Level3, but absolutely hate Centurylink. Re: [AFMUG] Changes coming
Level3 has been garbage for awhile now. Too many large (sometimes nation wide) outages. Sometimes data, sometimes voice, sometimes both. A lot of "legacy" Time Warner customers are miserable, as they've had more outages since the acquisition than prior to it. http://fuckinglevel3.com/ On Oct 31, 2016 12:30 PM, "Travis Johnson" wrote: > I wonder how this will affect everything... > > http://www.wsj.com/articles/centurylink-to-buy-level-3-commu > nications-for-25-billion-1477911639 > > I know a lot of people use and love Level3, but absolutely hate > Centurylink. > > Travis > >
Re: [AFMUG] Changes coming
CL has been pretty heavy handed in other acquisitions. So much so that many of the Qwest people still refer to themselves as legacy employees and have their own faction going. -Original Message- From: Travis Johnson Sent: Monday, October 31, 2016 11:30 AM To: af@afmug.com Subject: [AFMUG] Changes coming I wonder how this will affect everything... http://www.wsj.com/articles/centurylink-to-buy-level-3-communications-for-25-billion-1477911639 I know a lot of people use and love Level3, but absolutely hate Centurylink.
