Cheers, Nicole ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Edward Galvez <egal...@wikimedia.org> Date: 19 September 2016 at 18:23 Subject: Wikimedia Foundation is doing large online surveys in December To: Nicole Ebber <nicole.eb...@wikimedia.de>, Christof Pins <christof.p...@wikimedia.de> Dear Wikimedia User Groups, Thematic Organizations, and Chapters, I am emailing to let you know that the Learning & Evaluation team at the Wikimedia Foundation is coordinating the launch of Community Engagement Insights—a collection of surveys to four different audience groups in the Wikimedia movement. The surveys are specifically going out to active editors, very active editors, Wikimedia program leaders and affiliates, and volunteer wikimedia developers. The surveys will be launched on December 1st. We wanted to give you advanced notice that we will be using a few methods to send out this survey, including the central notice banner to logged-in users. These surveys seek to improve the alignment between Wikimedia Foundation and Wikimedia communities, gathering information about: (1) feedback about the foundations's programs, projects and services, (2) needs of Wikimedia communities (3) input to future projects and (4) measuring impact of our work. We hope that by listening better to Wikimedia communities, we will get better as an organization at serving the movement. You can find more details about this project on meta.[1] We need your help! We know that language is a big challenge to participate in the foundation's surveys, and we'd like to help change that for this survey. While we have some staff capacity to translate, we will need the help of affiliates and individual volunteers to make sure we can get the surveys and information translated. I will reach out again in early October with more information about how you can get involved with translation. Thank you so much for your time. I am very excited to see us do more to listen to our communities. If you have any questions about this project--or about surveys in general--you can reach me at surv...@wikimedia.org or egal...@wikimedia.org.
