I would be happy to give it one, although I think it's clear enough without one. Or, in other words, I think giving it a definition might be an improvement, but I still think it's okay to pass the current version. -Aris
DIS: Re: BUS: Proposal: Clarify dependent actions (attn Promotor)
On Sun, Feb 21, 2021 at 10:31 AM Edward Murphy via agora-business wrote: > > I pend the following proposal (identical to proto). > > Proposal: Clarify dependent actions > (AI = 3) Statement from the Promotor: There has been some question as to whether this proposal was validly submitted. After considering precedent, it is the opinion of the Office of the Promotor that the proposal was in fact submitted, but was not validly pended, because it was not specified that the pend fee was a pendant. I recommend that Murphy converge the submission and repend the proposal properly. -The Promotor Statement from Aris: This wasn't brought up on list at the time of the proto, and I'm sorry about that. That said... this is really hard to read. Like, I don't generally mind doing mental diffs for rules that are a paragraph long or something. But expecting people to do mental diffs for some of the longest rules in the game is a bit much? -Aris

Thanks. This is necessary, and looks good. The term public designation could probably use a definition—I’d be quite confused seeing it in the ruleset without one. Gaelan
DIS: [Reportor] Last Week in Agora
(Sending to the discussion list for silly technical reasons: I forgot to claim the Assignment for last week, so I can't get rewarded yet. The revised contract should let me get a reward for it because I can report on past weeks, but that only works if it hasn't previously been published.) Archived at https://github.com/AgoraNomic/Reportor/tree/master/weekly_summaries Below is the report for the week of 2021-02-08..14: # Summary G.'s era of dictatorly mischief is finally unambiguously at an end, with eir Emergency Regulations repealed by proposal if they weren't already. The new era is marked by the election of our new Prime Minister: all hail Trigon! This week also saw the rollback of the Bodies of Law framework and a reworked Extra Votes mechanism. Mysterious "Bunny"'s identity revealed: it's ATMunn! An idea circulated this week: reward clever tournament regulation authors by encouraging turning them into theses. Cuddlebeam tries out nix's class-0 oathbreaking idea from last week. Let's indict em! More originally, Cuddlebeam also tries to make a contract with no parties. # Voting * Voting ends on Proposals 8538-8540. All three are adopted. * Repeal all emergency regulations. See the "Dictatorship" section last week for context. (8538) * Roll back the Bodies of Law framework. (8539) * Make Extra Votes stronger. (8540) * Trigon is elected Prime Minister. # Miscellanous * Jason proposes to redistribute Doubloons evenly in the Pirate contract. * The "Guess That Agoran!" game continues until Aris correctly guesses it's ATMunn. * It's Falsifian's birthday, but birthday rewards are still broken. * Falsifian proposes an amendment to the Agoran Press contract. # Proposals * G. suggests adding rule text encouraging turning tournament regulations into theses. * Jason proposes to make unused Stones more likely to escape. (E submitted then withdrew a version last week.) # Dictatorship * G. explains what eir plan last week was: "My plan had been to uncertainty-entangle aspects of the gamestate...". Thread: "Dictator Dethronement" # Rule questions * Cuddlebeam deliberately makes and breaks a pledge with a crime value of 0. (nix already did this last week.) Jason suggests indicting em. * Cuddlebeam tries to makes a contract that persists even with no parties. Thread: "humble agoran farmer creates Pinocchio" * Would the proposal "Destroy Agora." be blocked by Rule 1698, or would something else block it instead? Something else: G. judges CFJ 3896 FALSE. Related: Contracts v8 indeed took effect (CFJ 3897 FALSE). # Auctions * The February stone auction takes place. The Wealth and Sabatoge stones are auctioned. * The February victory auction ends. Falsifian wins with a bid of 300 Coins for one Victory Card. -- Falsifian

DIS: Tailor progress
First draft of report automation is up and running: http://zenith.homelinux.net/tailor/report.php http://zenith.homelinux.net/tailor/report_monthly.php This should match holdings as of the last monthly report (2020-12-31). Current plan is to come back to this later, add an event model and check the archives for relevant events, then formally deputise/report. Once the event model is added, the weekly report can also indicate how much glitter prices have changed since the start of the week.
DIS: Fabrication
I'm going to try automating and picking up Tailor, which would benefit from automation due to including Glitter values. Watch this space.

Admitted; you never became one, so lists with you were valid (R2528) but you were eliminated prior to the first round of counting (R955).
