I don't know where you got the number '10', but it seems like there are
7 or 8 images, depending on architecture (I looked at i386 and amd64)

позволяют перезагружать службы, менять их уровень запуска и т.п.
Не могу только понять как вывести список всех basename для update-rc.d,
аналогично как делает chkconfig --list в редхате

выкачиваешь словарь (там хоть какие есть) и просто распаковываешь в
