I appreciate it is not the 'original usage' of presentation tools, but one 
thing that teachers and professors are now suggesting to students is that they 
use powerpoint to 'take notes' during lectures. This is because Ppt has a 
useful split screen interface to take notes on while a teacher is giving the 
lecture that the student can have open. The interface on impress as it stands 
is unsuitable for doing this as it is too small and the additional white space 
on the display takes away needless viewing and writing space. The interface in 
this is one of the main reasons, IMO, for the success of ppt over impress (and 
apple alternatives) and at the moment it is hindering my will to leave MS 
behind. This is not a criticism, but a suggestion for further development. I 
looked for other posts of similar type, but the only similar one was badly 
written and 'closed.' Pleeeeease have a look at student usability interface in 
impress?
