Since I'm the one who originally reported this on the Novell Bugzilla I suppose I can describe system and OOo version, here's a copy from what i put into the Novell bug report (linked in the first comment here)... System version and architecture: openSUSE 11.1-x86_64 (has happened in the past on i586 as well) Hardware: AMD X2 6400+ (dual core), 8GB RAM, nVidia GTX260 video card (proprietary drivers) Desktop: KDE4.3.1 (has happened in the past on KDE 3.5 as well) OOo versions tested specifically with this bug report are 3.1.0 and 3.1.1. Initially I focused on the openSUSE builds, but this can been confirmed/duplicated on upstream builds of OOo 3.1.1 as well. I transferred my user settings from OOo 3.1, including autocorrect lists that are currently in my c:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\OOo-dev\3\user\autocorr\ directory, as they should be. When I want to add an entry to the list, I proceed as follows (worked with previous versions): 1. Select a text that I want to make a replacement option. 2. Enter Format → Autocorrect → Autocorrect Options. 3. In the Replace tab of the dialog, I see my text in the With: field, choose the language from the drop-down list (for example, Russian), type in a shortcut into the Replace field, tick Text only, click on New. 4. I see the entry added to the list. 5. I close the dialog and continue editing. The new autocorrect shortcut and the previous ones work fine with the current document. 6. But after I close the document, all entries are lost and the respective file (say, acor_ru-RU.dat) becomes zero-size. Any other autocorrect lists available remain, unless I try to modify them. 7. Whenever I restore a .dat file from my OOo 3.1 profile or try to create a new list from scratch, it all happens again: any previous and/or newly added entries are retained for the current editing session only and are erased after closing the document. Of course this idea could be extended to gradients, hatchings and bitmaps as well. Even without this feature, it is possible to reorder the entries by doing the following steps: - Export the desired list (colors, gradients, hatchings and/or bitmaps) into a XML; - Edit this xml with an external tool - Import it again to get the new order This procedure is clumsy and a bit difficult for average users. As long as I know, 2.4 does not have this feature. I did not tested version 3.0 yet but the changelog has no entry for this enhancement.
