Don't have an answer to that one, Graham. I do recall some years ago at
Berkshire meetings, there was one man who insisted on sitting in the front row
where he frequently napped. I considered a talk a great success if I could
manage to keep him awake

Could you please post some pictures, either on alpine-l or the NARGS Forum? My
garden is locked in by snow and now ice coming on top of that. It would be so
wonderful to see some pictures of spring happening somewhere!

Lucky you, Marcia! I'd love them to behave like that here but there are only
a couple of places to their liking. I've had a lot of success moviing them
right after bloom and dividing them. It's quite a nice spread now, just not
where I can see it easily.

Does anyone know a source for plants of Astragalus lutosus? This is one I
have difficulty with this one from seed in my climate but when
I put in a plant at the appropriate time it does well enough to flower. It

Thanks for the info, Jim. Please let us all know how it does in your garden.
That's exciting that it's showing some signs of life.
Everyhting here is buried under many feet of snow. Hard to believe at this
point that spring will come.

Paige, thank you very much. We were incredibly fortunate last year to see
Ranunculus seguieri as I've never seen it before. Absolutely pristine. Two
weeks before we arrived, there was a big snowstorm in the alpine areas, and
that was why R. seguieri was so perfect. It's a snowmelt plant.
Great news, Carlo! Of course you'll keep all your friends informed every step of the way.
The best of luck to you.

Maggi,
Yet another spectacular issue of IRG. Loved Ian Christie's article, especially
to see Mertensia maritima in situ.
No wonder I can't keep that one when I see where it grows. Also the cordalis
pictures were so beautiful.
The photography is always so excellent. I feel I've had a preview

better is the form
grown from seeds collected by Brian and nicknamed 'Cottonballs' that makes
furry cotton balls with white to lemon stemless flowers. Again hand pollination
works here as well.
