It's definitely a bug in CS46xx driver. I've changed the test for the ring
buffer pointer to be in range 0 .. buffer_size-1 . pointer equal to
buffer_size doesn't make any sense and it should be really zero.

I did my first Alsa CVS download this morning just to take a look at
the code. I am a PlanetCCRMA user, but wanted to know more about Alsa.
I have not yet found a README or INSTALL file on how to do a build.
Are there any written instructions in the CVS tree?

What internal sample rate the emu10k1 is using when arecord
uses 44100 Hz sampling rate? Someone of you claimed emu10k1
uses 48000 Hz as internal sampling rate. Then does Alsa driver
do any sample rate conversion between 44100 Hz and 48000 Hz?
