When I use xmms with OSS plugin sound is normal but with the ALSA plugin
sound skips sometimes.
Is this a xmms problem? Or makes OSS emulation the sound stable?

How can I see that it is enabled?
I patched it and installed it.

Warning I'm running kernel 2.6.1 from redhat so not vanilla. I don't
know for sure if the problem is with kernel 2.6.1 vanilla to.
After the patch it compiles normal :)

I noticed that the ASUS A7600 is in the whitelist.
I have the same chipset but on a msi motherboard.
But ASUS has the ADI AD1980 SoundMAX 6-channel CODEC S/PDIF out
interface and I have C-Media Electronics CMI9739.
If the codec chip doesn't mater should the MSI motherboard also be
added?
If yes wh

Does esound do something special to keep sound stable?
It happens with snd-via82xx + OSS emulation.

kernel-source is installed but idd a virgin ;)
but I don't think that, that is the cause.
Because only this driver has problems with it.

That's a work around not a fix :p :)
./configure --with-cards=driver_name
does the trick to but it's not a fix :)

Beco
Mixer apps won't work. To have to have sound I have to put PCM on 100%.
Are there plans to fix this issue with cmi 9739 or are ther already
patches available somewhere?
Ps: master volume won't even work.
