The PDE detection of the configure script seems to be broken (switch
lines 1033 and 1034 of configure.in to fix).
Linux 2.4.23-pre7 does have a PDE function but it's not detected,

Hey, snd_pcm_oss (I think) just crashed on me. Included dmesg output as
attachment. It happened when ogg123 finished playing, has never happened
to me before. Additionally, alsamixer was running on a different tty.
Sound hardware: Intel Corp. 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller
