I bought a TerraTec EWX 24/96 Soundcard. It was possible to start the
ice1712 driver with alsaconf. But Aplay and the KDE Sounddriver always moan
about "unable to set channel params". Is it possible to get a little bit
more detailed error description about whats wrong in my system? E.g. a

thank you. You are right: my ide-dma is turned off. I only activated it in the
SUSE setup, but I've never check if it is really switched on.
Unfortunately I can not turn on the dma:
