Everything works really well (hooray dmix! and thanks) with
alsa-driver-1.0.0pre2 and cmedia-8738 except the following midi related
things, which were working fine in version 0.9.8 and earlier:
here's what i did (on gentoo)
$ /etc/init.d/alsasound start
$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [CMI8738MC6
