Hello!
We're making our own specially tailored Linux based upon the Ubuntu package
repository. The application running on the distro is a sound-enabled one,
and it will always be setup with the same sound card.
However, we cannot use the default settings in alsa for this card. For
example, the
Alsactl utility is used to save and restore the settings. See 'man
alsactl' for details. The settings file is mentioned. It is
/var/lib/alsa/asound.state on my system. Probably some system init
script in /etc/init.d should use alsactl, perhaps /etc/init.d/alsa.

Hi all!
I posted number of ours earlier, and I'm not sure if arrived for the list.
I' have a motherboard Asus M2A-VM HDMI with AMD 4200+ X2 processor and
2GB RAM. I try to use MythBuntu.
I' try to get digital sound from coax spdif connector, but can't get.
aplay -L output are:
default:CARD=SB
I have several J7F2 boards from Jetway, containing a 8237 via sound
device on the south bridge.
Using the alsa-driver, when I increase the volume then at some point all
over sudden the sound stops. On some boards this happens at 75%, on
others already at 60%, or 90%. Bringing the volume down
