Hi. I was using 0.9.0 beta 8 before, and it worked fine.
I now installed beta 10, and things seemed to work okay. I killed all
previous modules, installed it all.
I had some problems when I tried to do alsactl restore 0 (some version
mismatch stuff!?), and unmuted and restored all channels
It actually was because I had foolishly not installed ALSA driver.
Though now I am having other problems. I have unmuted all channels, but
I can still not hear any sound!
What could be wrong?

And now it works.
ALSA is really confusing. I don't know why I use it... MIDI is
piss-poor, having to recompile for every kernel upgrade is a pain... I
guess part of this is the kernel people's fault.

Hi.
Was wondering if S/PDIF Out (and In, although not as necessary for me)
would work with ALSA if I got a bracket card -- like the Hoontech SB DB
II/III?
Best wishes,

the mouse. This does not occur
when playing regular MIDI files.
Can anyone else try and verify this, and/or maybe tell me why this is
so?
Best wishes,

Hi.
Using alsa 0.9.0 beta 7.
I can't record using regular tools. I'm forced to use arecord, which
isn't fun.
What I'm having problems with is enabling record for Master or PCM...
when I try to enable it in alsamixer nothing happens.
I press Space when having the Master, PCM or Wave channel
Capture to 100. Works now.

not nearly sufficient, I'm afraid).
So, come and idle in #ALSA / OpenProjectsNetwork (irc.openprojects.net)
