I just bought a Foxconn R10-G3 with Onboard Audio Realtek ALC662, 6
channel; and installed Slackware 13.37. alsaconf reports "No
supported PnP or PCI card found". How can I get it to recognize this
onboard card?

Is there a way to have alsaconf just run and accept "YES".

Any idea why after totally reloading the entire alsa-utils (new Ubuntu

No.
What are the contents of /proc/asound/cards?

Dear people!
Without success I tried to set up my soundchip. I noted:
1. The alsa-driver via82xx is sharing IRQ 3 with ehci_hcd (related to
the usb-system ??).
2. How could I prevent the usb-drivers from being loaded at boot?
3. How could I asign interrupts differently?
4. Is it at all possible th
I'm still trying to get my AWE32 to work. In my latest effort, I ran
alsaconf. During the "removing modules" step at the beginning, my
computer started swapping heavily. Looking through ps, I found
several hundred copies of

Hello Alsa Users -
I've discovered a strange situation on a machine I own. It's an old
Compaq Presario 4505 that I received as a gift back in 98. It was
running Win95 for a long time, but I finally decided to liberate it with
Slackware 9.1
The machine was built with the ES1887 Plug and Play Aud

I know my alsa installation is somehow brocken since the Debian packages
are brocken. Still I wonder why alsaconf doesn't recognize my soundcard.
Using lspci direct shows it nicely.

Hi all,
When I run alsaconf, it sucessfully detects my sb awe64 card, but after it
has setup my /etc/modules.conf file and tried to do modprobe snd-awe, insmod
returns an error that /lib/modules/2.4.20-19.9/kernel/sound/snd-awe.o file
cannot be found. The file is there though. I originally had
In the RC1, alsaconf keeps getting segmentation errors right after the
graphical interface begins to load and show its loading modules and scanning
for your card. Its unable to load the soundmodules to search perhaps?
