Hi I'm successfully using the snd-firewire-improve alsa modules (which will be default in kernel version 3.19 - I have used dkms to install under kernel version 3.18). The streaming from / to the Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 audio interface is perfect without any XRUNs - compliments to Takashi
