Hi,

i have a problem, getting the onboard sound of the ASUS M2N-VM DVI
mainboard to work. The board uses an Realtek ALC662 for sound. As Kernel
i use currently 2.6.24-rc5. I have tested the following options
3stack-dig, 3stack-6ch, lenovo-101e for the model argument of the
snd-hda-intel module without success.

As long as i have started windows before using linux the Sound works
perfectly well. In this case the kernel reports the following if no
model option is used:
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_codec.c:2140: hda_codec: model 'auto' is selected
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_codec.c:2760: autoconfig: line_outs=1
(0x14/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0)
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_codec.c:2764:    speaker_outs=0 (0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0)
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_codec.c:2768:    hp_outs=1 (0x1b/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0)
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_codec.c:2776:    inputs: mic=0x18, fmic=0x19,
line=0x1a, fline=0x0, cd=0x0, aux=0x0

If i boot linux directly the sound will not work. In this case
the kernel shows the following output:
ALSA sound/core/init.c:137: cannot find the slot for index 0 (range
0-0), error: -16
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_intel.c:1878: hda-intel: Error creating card!
HDA Intel: probe of 0000:00:07.0 failed with error -12

lspci shows:
00:07.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP67 High Definition Audio
(rev a1)
         Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Unknown device 8290
         Flags: bus master, 66MHz, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 21
         Memory at dbff8000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
         Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2
         Capabilities: [50] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask+ 64bit+
Queue=0/0 Enable-
         Capabilities: [6c] HyperTransport: MSI Mapping

Is there any other option i could used to get sound working
without first starting windows?
