Ah. I based it on what I had worked out years ago for my main workstation

Replace it with:
pcm.!default {
type asym
playback.pcm "plug:hdmi:0,0"
i'm tryin to get audio to work on a new board.
so far nothing i've tried works.
aplay -l reports:
