Interestingly enough, this problem also started about the time I got the fglrx driver working. # aplay Fear_and_Loathing_-_Thorazine.wav ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:829:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to create IPC semaphore aplay: main:547: audio open error: Function not implemented Doesn't look good.
