I'm having trouble sending midi events between my soundcard and my
keyboard (piano, not querty), and I'm thinking that maybe I have a
faulty midi cable or something. I wondering what is the lowest level

I am using alsa for the via chipset and alsaplayer, xmms, and some audio
apps I wrote work just fine. But I cannot get audio output using mpg123.
I run mpg123 -v file.mp3 and I get the verbose output, which is counting
time fast, but no audio output. I check with alsamixer and all levels
