Could someone please be so kind as to direct me to where I can find this
commit? I'd love to test it, and I'm not really sure which repo to look
for and where it would be.
Thanks,
Eric

Hi,
what do I need to get high quality bluetooth audio working with Alsa?
I've found this wiki page, that describes how to set up a new device in
asound.conf: http://wiki.debian.org/Bluetooth/Alsa
But there are some questions left: Bluetooth A2DP uses lossy compression on the
audio data and
Hello to all,
I'm using a USB DVB-T dongle to connect a Playstation system to my laptop,
It's a WinTV HVR 900 (Empia) by Hauppauge with an adapter for RCA connectors.
If i run:

ALSA, without jackd? For now I start up jackd and get
system:playback_1
Not exactly ALSA related, but I have software defined radio program that feeds
an audio stream to stdout. Can I make it look like a /dev/dsp device so other
programs can use it. That is programs designed to read from soundcards?

I'm definitely not an ALSA expert, but I believe there's supposed
to be a way to do what you're asking. There's a kernel module
called snd_aloop that creates one or more artificial sound cards.
You can play sound samples to it from one client and

Hi Doug,
I'm definitely not an ALSA expert, but I am aware there are ways
that should do what you want. The following answer assumes you
are _NOT_ running PulseAudio. If you are running PulseAudio,
you'll probably need answers from someone who

i have been configuring a fresh install of linux mint 14 - mate on my
studio pc.
originally the onboard nvidia hda soundcard was functional and the rme
multiface (PCI) wasn't.
so i researched that i need to install alsa to get them both functioning.
i installed alsa packages and also
