I can find mentions of the CMI/CM in the Linux kernel sources. I also found this post from 2014: https://sourceforge.net/p/alsa/mailman/alsa-user/thread/536B28B2.1010107%40googlemail.com/ Although it only mentions the CM specifically in the patches which are linked to. In a 2019 post
