I am having two issues with Alsa on my system right now.
1. If I have headphones plugged into the system when I start up, sound
will come out of both my main speakers and my headphones. Unplugging
and replugging in the headset seems to solve the issue.
2. The Mic Boost channel under the -playbac

Success! The key seems to have been the selection of
the 6 ch option via alsaconf (2 or 4 ch don't work). An
options line in appears not to be required.

All output levels are muted at startup for any ALSA driver.
I'm using a Powercolor ATI HD 3450 with HDMI output. After much tinkering
I've finally gotten ALSA to recognize my sound card, however when I run
alsamixer there are no sliders and my only option is to mute or unmute
