Hello, I wanted to know for an AMANDA backup server running on Solaris which tape device to use, currently I am using /dev/rmt/0bn but I saw some documentation especially the RESTORING documentation which mentions using /dev/rmt/0cn, so what would be the correct device to use ? Regards

amrecover/amrestore problem with large taped tarballs

Hi all! I have a problem with amrestore/amrecover. I managed succesfully backup and tape all filesystems I wanted. When tried to recover some files I however encountered problem. If I got it right amanda reads through tape trying to find right file and then finds problem with its own headers

Hi Guys, I am having a hard time configuring my chg-scsi.conf file. I am running amanda-2.4.2-2-7 on Redhat 7.3 with an ADIC FastStor DLT7000 connected to an adaptec raid card 2100S. How do I find out with /dev/sgX settings to use in the chg-scsi.conf file?? Thanks Axel

Hi Matthew there is afbackup that will allow you to span tapes. afbackup.sourceforge.net As for support, its woeful, the mailing list is pretty dead and support via the author is non-existant. I am currently running amanda alongside afbackup, till one day I figure how afbackup works properly.
