Just an FYI. When I was playing with the file:driver I found that
you can do multiple partitions (file systems) in a single DLE.
I did it by specifying a starting point high in the directory tree
and including several mount points below that.
Thanks, I always wanted to know if
Hello,
I have configuredlbl-templ /path/3hole.ps for generating
ps-files from each log-file with amreport - merge them into one file
- create one pdf-file with all information of all tapes.
Now, amdump/amflush are logging errors, because I have no printing
system installed/configured.

I'd like to make a slight technical correction here-- I believe it
should be a full dumpcycle's worth of tapes, as the tapecycle is the
total number of tapes in rotation. Taking all your tapes

I run andump ; it says error processing file

I attached a new external DLT to my E450 and rebotted with boot -r.
When I enter mt status it shows me the DLT, but if I try to write to
the tape I get an I/O error. What else do I need to do to configure the
tape drive? This server also has an internal DAT drive.
Here is an example session

If you run andump the computer should answer
with command not found.
You should run amdump YourConfig. What's the
name of your config?
Does it just stop after complaining, or did it
give more

Hi Harlan!
This was exactly right! The firewalls were blocking the packets. I
disabled them, and things now work correctly. Configuring the Linux
firewalls to allow Amanda and Samba would be the next step. I'll ask Red
Hat about that -- it didn't look obvious how to do that... Thanks!

I believe I've my firewall issues resolved, so this is something new.
On one of the clients, I get an estimate timeout when using the dumptype
comp-user-tar, but not with comp-user. Could this be simply a problem
trying to do too much on the client or might it be something else? At
some point

Don't run amflush after amdump runs. You can run amflush whenever you're
ready to drain the holding disk to tape, and you can even restrict amflush
to specific hosts or host:disk combinations.

Hello Amanda-users :-)
In former times I tried to make my Onstream
DI-30 FAST work with amanda on SuSE 7.3 - without success.
Now my question:
Has things changed in amada for Onstream
? - is it possible to make it work now ??
