I am having trouble getting amanda to create index files. I have set index
to yes in the dumptype. I don't believe there is a permissions problem:
ls -laF /var/lib/amanda/normal/index/hostname

I once wrote about a small shellscript that I use to back up
AMANDA-metadata and have received some requests to provide it here.
At last I have found some time to translate it to english and add some
small notes. I use this script regularly in some client-setups by
wrapping it into rundump.s
