your reply I looked again at the reports printed out, and realised that all

My server and client have been shut down for a week, and today should have
been the first backup after restarting. This is the report:
These dumps were to tapes Dailys-3, Dailys-4, Dailys-5, Dailys-6.
The next 10 tapes Amanda expects to use are: Dailys-7, Dailys-8, Dailys-9,
Dailys-10, Dailys-1
I have a monthly backup config with runtapes=3 and 59 tapes in the
tapecycle. The instructions I was originally given say to run a script
that looks in tapelist, find the highest # then label the next 3 tapes

Amanda 2.5.0p2 on a Debian system. With an 8-tape changer.
1) How do I find out if hardware compression is turned on?
2) Why does the amr

I am trying to backup an apple server. I started out using tar and it works
just fine but tar will not backup special file systems just date.
So there is no way to backup an Apple server system and restore it to it
original state from the backup. I wonder how sites with a lot of Apple
servers b
Hello,
We have a different backup set (separate config, tape set, etc.) that
run in a monthly basis, with dumpcycle=0 (allways perform full
backup), and is running great for us. In the docs you have more info on
this.
