Hi All
I have recently installed two amanda backup
servers.
One is a redhat 8 server with a six stacker dds 3
autoloader, and a debian unit with a single dds3 unit.
I compiled amanda on both servers. They both have
the same permissions and user privilages.
The redhat server seems to b

Hi All
seems my amanda server has problems trying to
connect to my amanda clients.
Client and server are 2.4.4 and have the rightfull
entries in the /etc/inetd.conf.
I have tried to telnet to each client upon port
10080 with connection refused.
All I can think of is something on the c
Hi All
I understand raitcan only work with single tape

Do you also need a minimum 3 tape units to do rait,

Can someone please answer these for

Hi All
I have two hp dds3 six stack tape
units.
My question is, recently I have read about amanda
rait where I can simultaneously use two units as like one unit in a ala raid
style fashion.
My tape units are /dev/sg0 and /dev/sg1 for the
stacker and the tape units itself are /dev/nst0,
Hi Matthew
there is afbackup that will allow you to span tapes.
afbackup.sourceforge.net
As for support, its woeful, the mailing list is pretty dead and support
via the author is non-existant.
I am currently running amanda alongside afbackup, till one day I figure
how afbackup works properly.
er: QUIT
taper: DONE [idle wait: 0.000 secs]
taper: writing end marker. [daily-008 OK kb 0 fm 0]
driver: FINISHED time 20.545
well I can see no errors.
any ideas

Hi All

Ho to I add that drive/machine into the backup cycle, I have not edited
the disklist, but something else is missing to make this complete.

Hi
Can anyone tell me about the backup and recovery system burt.
has anyone used it.
It seems to backup across multiple tapes, but it seems not as well
designed as amanda, seems a lot os tcl scripting is required before it
will work.
Also does anyone know if it will handle autoloaders.

Hi
Is the adic 1200 tape library supported. It is a dds2 tape library that hold s12
dds2 tape units.
Hope to hear from anyone if it can or can not be , or if someone is using it
with amnada.
I wish to use it on solaris 8.
