I recieved this mail, what is the meaning of no backup size line?
Why the dump failded???
Thanks
Montse
These dumps were to tape Miercoles.
The next tape Amanda expects to use is: Jueves.

now i'm sure it is a harward problem because i backup it
directly using
tar
and it hangs too.
It seems that there are more problems here:
1) You say you run tar 3 consecutive times and then it lists you the
archives. What does it exactly list you? The contents of the
i read in somewhere that as amanda uses tar it is easy read
the tapes
without amanda, so i did "tar xvf /dev/nst0" several times
till i got
the
files in the tape. It did worked.
If your /dev/nst0 tape drive has backup images on it that
were put there
by AMANDA, then I
suspicious of
the hardware
and cabling. Check for proper termination on the bus (if
SCSI.) You might
want to pull back a step and get a basic tar to and from the
tape working
before setting up AMANDA.

What version of Amanda are you using?
i am using amanda 2.4.2
Did you get a core file in that directory or /tmp/amanda? If so, what
do you get when you run a debugger on amreport and the core file and
enter the "where" command, e.g.:
$ gdb /path/to/amreport /path/to/core
gdb
Hello:
I've discovered that one of the errors is generated because there isn't a
tapelist file, but i thought it was generated by amanda itself. Is that
right???
i have the line:
tapelist "/usr/local/etc/amanda/Diario/tapelist" , that is, in the same
directory as amanda.conf
thanks
