Hi. How current is the info on the wiki about compiling Amanda for
AIX? It mentions that amanda-2.5.0p2 is the latest compilable version,
as opposed to 2.5.1 and 2.5.2 which don't work, but has there been any
progress on that since 2.6.x came out?
Thank you

Hello,
I am new to these list and if I use amanda with Linux (at home), I have
never used it with AIX. I have installed amanda on an AIX server at
work, but amanda "core dumps" each I try it.
Even "amcheck xxx" fail with core dump.

Title: Compiling Amanda on AIX 5.1
Hi
I'm trying to compile amanda 2.4.4p1 on AIX 5.1 using gcc 2.95.
Unfortunately, it doesn't compile. The following is the output that I get.

AIX 5.1L (PowerPC)system? It is available on AIX 4.1 and 4.3but I
could'nt see for version 5.1L? any related information on this is

Rick,
For what it's worth, I just used gcc and other GNU tools such as automake,
autoconf, etc. Amanda compiled and works fine using these tools. You can
get them from IBM at the following address:

My guess is you're supposed to "install" gsc on your AIX box before
trying to build Amanda. Did you do the contrib/gsc/README steps?
However, I notice it didn't say anything about gscdds.h.

Amanda-2.5.0 is the current development version which is available via CVS.
This information is taken directly from the amanda sourceforge page:

Look in the FAQ for how to do a CVS checkout:
http://amanda.sourceforge.net/fom-serve/cache/156.html
The main branch (no -r option) of the "amanda" module will get you 2.5.
Here's what Thomas said a couple of days ago about using chg-scs

Hello everybody!
I have just downloaded and compiled Amanda (2.4.2p2) and am beginning to
configure it. At the moment, it looks like I am going to have to write my
own tpchanger script.
I am wondering if anyone else out there is using Amanda on AIX with an IBM
7337 tape library and if there
