Thanks, that makes sense, and I'm not all that surprised to hear it.
I haven't heard anything from the amanda list on whether or not
the zmanda client checks to see if the reply is authoritative or
not. And experimentally we failed, then it worked, then failed
and worked again.

The guy with access to the logs is gone for the day, but will
post a reply to you in the morning.
Reported error was that the server needed to be registered with
the client. Did ultimately add the IP to the client, worked Monday
night but failed again Tuesday, for what reason I can not
