I lost my changer.conf file via a hard disk failure. I didn't realize
/etc/amanda/DailySet1/changer.conf was a symlink to
/var/lib/amanda/DailySet1/changer.conf. So when I restored
/etc/amanda/DailySet1 from backup, all I get was a broken symlink. I

parameters of changer.conf do you think would be appropriate? Is
there any way I can extract those parameters with some command tool
utilities?
I seem to have found those lurking in the Amanda list:
firstslot=0
lastslot=16
cleanslot=16
autoclean=0
havereader=0
offline_before_unload=0
poll_drive_ready
it just works.

So since I ahve a 40 tape library unit with 2 tapes inside it.
I split the library in half( for now) and use one
tape drive for each config.
When I specify the first slot in my changer.conf file
on the second config it seems to always load the tape
in slot one
I have a Sun StorEdge 4mm DDS-3 autoloader (magazine of 6 tapes loader)
