So...
I tried to remove Amanda an rebuild it from FreeBSD ports, but it came
with missing Perl module Config.pm
At tshat stage, I suspected something fishy with FreeBSD ports, so I
ended up copying all the Perl libraries for Amanda from another known
working server and now everything is fine. I think that the other server
is working because it was not build as a 3.3.9 server, but had been
upgraded from many prior versions and the missing Perl buits where
installed by those previous versions.
I strongly susppect that le port for Amanda on FreeBSD has some issues.
Also, 3.9.9 is the latest version available as a port for FreeBSD.
