however, it wasn't very far from me !
I've found exactly what I was looking for.
For info, 3 files are located in /usr/share/doc/amavisd-new/examples
amavisd-agent amavisd.conf-default and amavisd.conf-sample
I now have to read all of this.

I installed some days ago amavisd-new-2.3.3 (20050822) without
any problems and tested it against virus successfuly.
(I'm using it with clamav)
Yesterday I discovered that it was stopped and can't be
started anymore.
In my logs or with the debug option, one could read:
