Greetings. I have spent several hours doing individual backtests within certain
historical dates. For example my system will only enter the stock exchange if
certain criteria are met. There are 10 seperate dates in which I switch the
system on and off.
So the question remains. Please, is it

Try something like the following:

ValidBuyDates = Dates == 1041105 OR Dates == ... OR Dates == ...;
Buy = MyBuySignal AND ValidBuyDates;
...
Repeat the same for Sell.

I'm playing with a long-only scalping strategy. The idea is to buy at today's
closing price and sell on the next day if next day's price reaches profit
target. Following is the simple script I wrote:
Buy = 1;
BuyPrice = Ref(C,-1);
Sell = H Ref(C,-1) + 0.25;
SellPrice = Ref(C,-1) + 0.25;
You didn't state your application, so I don't know if it is relevant, but I
posted a 2 dimensional sort routine in message 136551. This routine reverse
sorts tickers and an indicator value, and keeps the pairs together to be
printed in the Interpretation window.

Hi- Question for those of you who use Norgate: how do you contend with the fact
that prices are not adjusted for ordinary cash dividends? I've seen a few data
providers who do it this way...but I can't understand why...am I missing
something? All their reviews seem to be very positive,
Don't you agree that the market adjusts prices as dividends are paid?
A double adjustment?

Yes to the first question. If a stock is trading at $10.00 on 12/1/2000 and the
ex-date for a $1.00 quartely cash dividend is 12/2/2000, I would expect the
stock to open at $9.00 on 12/2/2000, all else being equal. I believe to
correctly test a trading system, the price history for 12/1/2000
We quite regularly deal with this question.
The major index providers (SP, Dow Jones, FTSE, MSCI) produce indexes
that are NOT adjusted for normal cash dividends but do adjust for
special dividends. This includes such headline indexes as SP 500, Dow
Jones Industrial Average etc.
The major

You cannot compare a stochastic to a MA of the close.
StochKRising=StochK(5)MA(C,10);
They are two seperate things.
Perhaps more along the lines of

Any update on when we can expect a 64 bit implementation? Data vendor holdouts
are probably the primary thing holding back a groundswell (ok, so maybe just a
ripple!) of users from making the leap to 64 bit.
With 64 bit OS's becoming more mainstream, the time has come.
