Dear All,

Abbie,
as far as I know yahoo doesn't provide historical fundamental data which you
need for proper historical backtesting.
Regarding the for cycle it looks fine.

I'm looking to create my own Point of Control (POC) calculation... I know
PlotVAPOverlayA already calculates it, but I can't return the value via AFL (or
the standard deviations around that value).
So, basically at the very least I need to calculate a 'mode' price for the days
price action...
Hello,
I often have a need to refresh the selected chart from afl, for
example to create responsive GUIs.
I have seen code to simulate key-strokes, would anyone know if it is
possible to simulate a Mouse-click from afl?
Many thanks for any help you can give,

hi,
this is tough using AFL. Several requests have been done for inherent market
profile functions but sofar I did not see anything yet.
I used some code from the library but it is not very efficient (added code,
mp_ed.afl). The POC plotted in the code is from the previous day.
On
Ed,
I am one of those who requested MP a long time back.
It's a shame because inherently the POC and Value areas are already produced by
the PlotVAPOverlayA() function... but there seems to be some resistance to
simply returning their values via AFL.
I have no idea why.
Thanks

yes indeed PlotVAP is already there, don't know why it is not implemented.
Several other softwares have it built in like ensign. I have no experience with
this software:

Hi Abbie --
I wrote a paper, Use of Fundamental Data in Active Investing, that
discusses some the issues that arise when using fundamental data.
You can download it for free from this site:

Hi Jolly --
Something like this:?
TrailingStopPercentage = 2.5; // percentage points
ApplyStop(StopTypeTrailing,StopModePercent,TrailingStopPercentage,1);
TrailingStopPercentage is a variable that you control completely -- you name
it, you assign it a value, the value can be an expression
Mike,
Thank you for the info. I think I got it to work with the code below. Now I
am curious how to backtest this composite to see how this would have worked
during bull/bear periods. Any tips on how to go about this?
Thank you in advance.

I can think of this, possibly, as a solution:

The link I pointed to shows how to handle the title. I don't know if there is a
way to make the Y-Axis label be a different color than the Plot. If there
isn't, that can be easily worked around by not drawing a label for the original
plot and then using a second plot that includes a label but
That is very likely due to commission. In the General tab of the AA settings,
set Commission rates to $per trade and enter 0 in the area beside that
option. Also, set Interest rate to 0 and set margin to 100. This should give
you the results you expect. You can then decide later if you want to

Either of styleOwnScale or styleLeftAxisScale will help with the chart usage
