Hi Marv I have used both the D700 and the D710. I have not noticed much difference in the receive between the two radios. I use both a 5/8 wave duel band and a 1/4 duel band on my durango. The 1/4 works much better but I have made contacts with the 5/8 wave when I am out in the open. I use 435.30
