Hello dears freinds :
I write to you to ask for a big favor. I own an old YAESU FT-747 which final
RF
power transistors 2SC2290 or 2SC3240 were damaged.
I have not been able to find them, allthough I have searched ansiously.

Hi Erich,
Thanks for the great upgrade. I see you incorporated the CW-N mode and
the display of the DOPPLER.sqf line in the CAT menu I suggested :)
You are correct, one of the issues with fast changes in Doppler on a
CW-N signal is that it jumps in pitch a lot. I enabled the x5 and x10 mode

Hi! there Tim, Craig and Sawson, I like to comment that I also worked Sawson at
his "50 milliwatts on a whip" but thats not it, he was able to complete a qso

finally got an extra handheld to add to my satellite stat
I have uploaded two AO-51 audio files to my webserver.
The first is the 12Nov2009 2241Z pass with AA5CK/P
operating in EM03. The second is the next pass on
13Nov2009 at 0023Z that includes AA5CK/P in EM03 and
another not often heard from grid, CN83, with W9AE operating.
The second recording is a
Tim, Sawson and I frequently have such contacts on AO51, SO50 and AO27, and we
would invite anyone with a duplex handheld like our D7s, and elks, arrows and
even AR800s to give it a try. The high passes are the easiest, but folks would
be surprised how well 50 mw radiates through space at most

Dave,
SO-67 is only turned on occasionally for testing at this point. The
schedule is posted on their web site, sometimes with very short notice:

I haven't heard any activity on SO-67 since the mode vu repeater was on last
weekend. Is the satellite in a different mode? If so what is the downlink
frequency of the beacon? Any information would be appreciated.

My apologies to everyone for this re-post. Actually, it was my original attempt
at posting this. I sent it right after the pass yesterday. When it didn't show
up by this morning, I re-sent the post everyone saw several hours ago. I didn't
think this one was going to make it.

Hey everyone,
During the 2045-2046 UTC portion of the AO-27 pass over the western U.S. today
(11 November), Sawson (KG6NUB) and I completed a two-way contact with handheld
stations that were each transmitting 50mW (.05-watt) out. Sawson used a Kenwood

Geeze, I am holding AO-51 schematics in my hand ... and at the last
AMSAT-NA convention, the proceedings book has a ton of info ...
I think the info IS out there. AMSAT-NA doesn't seem to be hiding
anything.

Unfortunately, ITAR is federal law in this country so U.S. residents must
work within its limits.

Hi Robin,
You apparently don't realize that almost all recent AMSAT-NA designs are
already open sourced and are available on the internet (such as
SuitSat/ARISSAT) or through the AMSAT-NA Journal, the Proceedings and
other publications. You just need to do a little searching.

I am telling maybe something controversial to you guys but I think
it's this idea is needed for amsat.
The post is made because I had a question to amsat and the satellite
users, builders, controllers,... Why aren't the schematics of AO-7,
AO-51, SO-50,... not posted on the internet?

Hey everyone,

Tim, Sawson,
Congratulations on your "flee power" contact! Once again experience,
knowledge, patience and the cooperation of good satellite operators triumphs
over power. We should tip our microphones to Tim, N3TL and Sawson (KG6NUB)
for their efforts. I can hear the hiss of rigs being turned on

The ITAR-rules is one of the biggest carp ever.
The solution is to MAKE EVERYTHING OPEN SOURCE:
Make a website where every amateur can download the schematics, pcbs
layouts, software,... This will be a great help.
Make your designs more open. Every amateur will benefit from this action.
