ARISS has moved into the social networking realm.
I'd like to invite you to visit our Facebook Page at Amateur Radio on the

Hi!
I just uploaded 3 more videos to my channel on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/va7ewk
from my late July trip to Baja California. One video from an FO-29 pass
at grid DM21jw on 29 July 2010, and two videos from AO-7 and FO-29 passes
at grid DM22gp on 30 July 2010. Thanks to the 3 cameramen
Joe,
Mine arrived relatively recently. For years I have noticed that I get
magazines, newsletters, etc, not just the Journal, significantly later than
others. One of the mysteries of snail mail and living in the country.

I don't know where you've been in Europe, but that would be

You know that it still costs only 3 cents to mail a letter (same charge that
was made during the Civil War). The remainder is for storage costs!

Thanks for the reminder -
I forgot about the 74.4Hz turn on tone -
I had a quite pass last night -- I was hesitant to transmit until
I heard somebody on the downlink. Then I tried a test call (with
the 67hz on) - and
did not hear my downlink -- adding to the puzzle.

I would have to side with Nigel here as my understanding is that he is
quite correct - you are not allowed to listen into the Police
frequencies for instance or any other frequency that you are not
authorized for - maybe you can in Scotland Gordon :-P
As always, I am happy to be corrected

Hi!
On the AO-51 pass that just went by around 0012 UTC this afternoon,
I tried something I do with any HT I get - work satellites. I picked
up a Yaesu VX-8GR at Dayton 3 months ago, and have started using it
for APRS. Since it has two VFOs on it, I did not have to program any
memory channels
Steve,
I believe AMSAT is sending the Journal, and I don't remember claiming
they weren't. I also know it quite often doesn't get here. It is the only
piece of regularly scheduled mail I have trouble with. I suspect the postal
service is having problems between me and AMSAT. I was just
Excellent pass over North America 0340Z and no one to talk to. L
